Humility, Changes, and Cake

So, Doug wrote awhile back about slavery, specifically to things like good grades. Yesterday was a day that God used to help with the process of freeing me from that slavery. My final grade for a class was 5 out of ten. This is a passing grade here, so I did pass...but barely. So, yay, I passed my first final in Spain, but in a very humbling manner.

I have decided to move into an apartment for second semester. I've really enjoyed my time with the family I have here, but I'd like to try a semester of a bit more independence and closer to the university and other students. So, I am currently hunting for an apartment, which has been a bit of an adventure but I'm sure it will work out well. I'm excited about cooking every day!

Speaking of cooking, I currently have two layers of a cake cooling, waiting to be smothered in a lemon cream cheese frosting, yum. This is a late birthday cake, for myself. Begona said she thought about buying one, but she thought I would enjoy baking one and that it would probably taste better, so Danny picked up ingredients today. I hope it turns out well!

So, there are a few little blips of what's going on in my life. :-) I'll try to write a little more often....
